Morning.....

Morning Bloggers!

Just having a little chill with a cuppa before I go & iron all the kids school uniform's.

It felt as if yesterday, went by really quickly. I didn't do much during the day as the weather here in NW London was 'horrible'! It was pouring down & very windy. "I sure it must of been part of the Hurricane Irene!"
It just came from no where.

So me & Lacey stayed in. I managed to finish of the Doll's Pram Set that I was making. Just, got to slip stitch the edge closed. I am 'so pleased with the set'. Considering it was my 1st time & it's just perfect!
Then me & Lacey watched, Something Special on Cbbies together, before her little nap.

When she woke it was time to pick up Corey from school. Picked him up.He had another good day at school & was even more happier as I had brought his bike up. For him, to ride home. We I struggled trying to bring it, along with a pushchair! All along the way I had to keep stopping & kept thinking to myself 'never again', lol It was too much. This a bike for 7yr old, so its not that big but it's not that small either. In the end, half way there, I decided to try putting it on the pushchair (some how!...).
Well 'I DID', lol. By putting the front wheel & handle bar over the pushchair handle bars! Crushing the hood as well while I'm at it. You should have seen me! well least it got me there a bit quicker.

Went home & on the way, my other two boys came up to me. They handed me their school bags as they were of with their dad for the evening, he's taking them out. Me & their father are no longer together but he see's them every other weekend.

I managed to get some cleaning & washing done, which I had neglected earlier on as I was sewing & spending time with Lacey.

I was going to do some sewing but in the end I was shattered after I had done dinner, So I just sat on me bum & watched all the 'soap's' & 'Big Brother' although I don't remember the end  of BB as I feel a sleep!

So that was yesterday & now it's today! What will I be doing? Well Jamie's here so that means I will have loads of time to sew today while he, catches up on bonding time with Lacey-boo! yeah!
Jamie does'nt live with me. He lives In Oxford, which is just out of London. which is just an hour & a half,  journey away. He comes here every weekend & when he has his day off, like today. We have been together for 9 yrs, on the 14th of this month. It has always been this way & hopefully one day we will move to Oxford to be a family, properly! I love him to bits. He's the father to the two youngest, Corey & Lacey.
It's also so hard on them, especially Lacey now, as she's a ' daddy's girl ' & to young to understand, why he leaves then comes back all the time!

Well, I'm off now as need to iron this clothe's, cos they ain't goner iron themselves.

I will be posting again, later today as I will talk about people & books that have inspired me!

What things inspire you?.........

First Day back to Routin!!!....

Evening every1
Today was the kid's 1st day back to school, Hurray!!
Managed to get up early this morning, well 7.15am. It was so quiet but I knew someone was a wake. It turned out that they were all up & made breakfast! Even better as all I had to do was the Ironing.

I was going to take my middle son to school today, as It was his 1st day at his new secondary school. I did for the other two kids when they started secondary.
He didn't want me too! I was a bit sad but what ever makes him happy & as long as he's sure.
So he decided to walk with his older brother to school , who's in the year above. At half 8am I left to take my youngest son to school. It felt so strange, just taking 1 child to as I'm use to taking 2 at a time. My niece came with us as she didn't start school till 2pm

PEACE AT LAST!!!......

So what did I get up to, for the rest of the day.?!

I did some more sewing on the Pram Set I'm making at the moment. You can see this by viewing yesterday's blog I posted. Had a chill. Then met up with my friend Lou, when me niece left for school.
We did some food shopping in Sainsbury's then ran to the school as time just flew by. We didn't want to be late for our kids on the 1st day back, not that it's ok any other time.

After I picked up little man, we went home for him to change in to something old. As he had football training at 4pm.

I got my niece to take him up as she was home first and just so I can wait for the other 2 boy's to come home. I made a cuppa & chilled for 10 mins before I walk up there to watch & let the little one play in the park for half hour, till he was finished. The other 2 boys came up with me as well.

NOW.....

I'm watching the soap's, well trying too! Bit hard when you have kids jumping around in front of the telly & being very noisy! Littleman has just gone to bed then soon following will the the rest. Then it's back on to me sewing after I've finished writing this blog!

You never know, I may be started a new project!!!......

Here's some more picture's of things I've made....

A few scented Heart's with Dried Lavender, I've made.

 This is the front.....

This is the back.
I made a few of these & gave them in at the boy's primary school. For they summer fair, last year. To sell & help to raise money to expand the school so they can take more children with special needs. Their school is an excellent school in Kentish town & it's not private!

A little apron for my little girl, on her 2nd birthday. This year,  as we brought her a little country style, kitchen. I also made her a matching shopping bag too!

Here's one of my favourite project's I've done so far! I mad this blanket / cover, for my partner's sister as she had just had a little girl. I had brought this lovely fabric from America & on the back of this I used, a Primark £3 fleece throw. (I have a lot of these, most of the colours! ) So cheap & cosy when you wanna snuggle up on a cold night. I used the cream one.

I added this lovely trim, that I had. All the way around the blanket. I also cross stitched her name & a little rose in pink, DMC stranded thread, on a pink Aida Band.

Here's the finished blanket, folded in half with Lacey's rag doll. The perfect gift  for any princess. Jamie's sister was so pleased with her gift that she can Cherise forever!

An apron I made for myself ! & a .....

matching tea towel. Both in Laura Ashley fabric's with added frill.

That's it for tonight, I'm off . So I'm going to say.............

Goodnight & God Bless, you all!

Afternoon.....

Well, today was another good day, had a bit of a lie in this morning. Was up a bit late cutting fabric stripes for my ruffles & ties. The weather on the other hand, has totally changed from yesterday!
Its was hot & sunny yesterday & today its cold & raining.
Whats happened there! Anyway I......

.....Had a cuppa (of coffee) to wake me up before I set the table for breakfast (before all the kids come rushing in!).  After breakfast I got straight back to the sewing machine, to start sewing again while kids tidyed up the rooms, as its Cleaning Day in our house! The day where I clean out everywhere & the day where the kids clean their rooms proberly! Well you have to keep checking as they end up playing & not doing it probly...... I did'nt do all the cleaning I wanted to as I wanted to finsh of sewing.

But first, here's what I did yesterday......

This is one of the dinning chair cushions I'm making at the moment.

& here's the 2nd one........2 more to go!

And now for the preview of the Doll's Pram Set I'm making at the moment.

Here's what I did yesterday.....

My patchwork square's stitched together, then I added the white boarder stripe!
Until I noticed that they were to short!! I not good at measurements, lol. So I unpicked them started again.....

Finally after I managed to get the boarder stripe's, the right size, I sewed them together around the edges of my patchwork piece.

Then I added a lace frill around the edge of the patchwork. I turned the frayed end of the frill, over, to make a neat edge. Pinned it, all the way round.

Now when It comes to the corner's, well I hate them! Lol.
I can never seem to get them perfect! Does anyone else have that trouble?? Please leave a comment if so.....

At the for corner's I will be adding later on these little white rose's.

This is the pillow, that's part of the set, that I'm working on. This is just to give you an idea of what It will, kind of , look like! Sorry the photo is turned to the side.

Here is the last picture that I will be showing you of this project as the next time will be the finished set. I have pinned the 2" ruffle I made with a 4" stripe of lemon cotton fabric, folded it in half , pressed & basted stitched it all the way down the long side, edge( not the side that has the fold).
once that's done, you can start to gather your fabric by holding the bottom thread & carefully pulling the top thread. You have to make sure you are using a really strong cotton tread for this as it may break when pulling. This still happens to me!

That's It from me today will be back to post again tomorrow sometime, as the kids are back to school, hurray!!!! & I have to get on with finishing dinner. Early night tonight as It's gonna be a busy start!

I will post some more picture's of things I've made already while I'm finishing of the Prams Set & Dinning Chair Cushions.

So I'm going to say a early Good Night & God Bless blogger's!.......

As mid night draws closer..........

Had a lovely day today, 2 of my boy's (the older one's) Ricky & Casey. Had football matches.
They both did really well in their friendly matches, as it was the 1st time back since they broke up from school, in July.

My partner & younger son, Corey went to a football match too! This time Jamie, (my partner) was going as a sub for his mates team to help them out as they were men short.
So it was just me & the girl's at home today, all day.

Peace & quiet..... It's more hectic when all the boys are together.

I managed to get my windows cleaned, in the kitchen. It was such a lovely sunny day here in the NW of London & what a good time to sew I thought, with the sun shining in.

Beautiful!

After putting my 2yr old to sleep, mid day nap, I got cracking on with my sewing.
I'm making a Doll's Pram Set at the moment ,(along with my dinning chair covers)  for my friend's daughter who has a  yellow, Silver Cross, Doll's pram. As her birthday is coming up soon.

Will post picture's of what I've done, so far as I will have to up load them, which takes quite while..

I thought I would check out my blog, in between everything that was going on.

I found I had 2 followers! My 1st followers as I've only just started blogging in the last couple or more days. I was so happy x
Thank you girls for making my day, even better!

It's so nice to meet people with the same interests as you & who give a lot of inspiration too !

At the moment I'm having a break, a little 'put me feet up' time. As I've just got all the kids of to sleep & had a quick clean up! kids mess! lol.

Just watched the new game show, well the last 20 mins of it, on ITV1. Not sure the name. It was hosted by Ant & Dec.

I, was on the edge of my seat with the man, who won the million pound prize!
As that last bit with him choosing the red colour (it was like a poker table with no numbers on it). He needed the ball to land & stay on the red bit.
As the table kept spinning the ball kept moving from the red to the black! It landed on the red & stayed there, he Won!
I was so happy for him, bless him!

I have just watched Big Brother, i love it!
Now I'm off to do a bit more sewing before bedtime.

So I will say Good Night! for now, God bless you all x x
.

Rise & shine.....

Morning, up early as two of my boys have football matches. One's 12 & the other is 11yrs old. All my boys are football mad! That's why I thank my blessings for having a girl at last & my niece who lives with us too.

It all started when I decided to do up my niece's bedroom. She is getting older now so I wanted something that was bright & for her age, something simple......
I started looking on the Internet for things I could buy for her room with the theme I was looking for. I started looking on eBay for stuff  & started looking at cushions that people where making & selling on there.

I then thought to myself ,'these must be easy to make'.

That's when I decided to get a sewing machine!
The only type of sewing I've ever done was mend holes in kids clothes, replacing buttons & cross stitch at primary school & a few little kits along the years.
I had never used a sewing machine before in my life!

When I got my Singer machine I read through the manual & started.
"It was as if I was a natural at it."

The first item I made was a, 4 square patchwork cushion with ties..
I was so impressed with it, that I decided to try more stuff. I started getting sewing books & looking on the Internet for ideas & help. Theyre was quite alot of stuff I found & all so helpfully, more that what I thought I would find.
'You could say I'm a fast learner'!! lol

Well here's what I've made & done to my niece's room. Spring last year!......

This was my 1st cushion I made & a little matching heart.

This was another cushion that I made for her room.....

I started buying things for her room & brought this unit which had a cream lining in the basket.
I wanted to change it, to match the cushion I made.

Here some of the before stage of her bedroom makeover pictures

Her room is very small. I wanted to try & make more space, well as much as I could!........

I brought all white furniture ( Now that's she at an age where she would take care of it. Early Teenager! ), made the curtain that's up at the window & made a valance for the window too, in a Laura
Ashley Fabric.
Here's some more after pictures, nice & fresh with space!....

I totally changed everything.....

Still girly but with an older style too!...

The butterfly wall sticker I got for her, 'So Pretty'.

The finished room!

What do you think? She so loved it! I totally designed it myself even made a plan of what I wanted & it all fitted together perfectly. x

Please feel free to post a comment or ask me anythink you like. I'm intrested in know what you think of my blog, what I could do to improve it (if you think I do).

Thank you for popping by

Morning......

Sorry, I never came on again yesterday. Had a lovely day after paying my bills.
Meet up with a friend & headed to The Stables Market in Camden to have a wonder through all the vintage stuff.

I love the fact that I only live less than 5mins away from all the Markets in Camden. This is a place that I would recommend that you visit at least once. There things for everyone!

I'm a big fan of the Shabby Chic style & all things Shabby!

I came across a little stall that sells aload of old china.

Here is a little Trio I brought, Queen Ann set for my little self I need to put up in the kitchen!

I have put it in my corner cabinet in the hallway for the time being, so it does get damage by the kids..

A close up! So sweet......

& here's the corner cabinet I've put it in.

This is me & my little girl at the Stables Market yesterday.

As you can see, she wasn't happy to have her picture taken!... Never mind it was nice in the end x

Things I've made!........

Here is a few things I've made so far......

This is a little cushion I made for a friend of mine as a prescent for her Christening. This was my own design.

This was a start to a cushion I made for my little girl. I found this design of a little girl in a Cross-Stitch book that I won on Ebay.

Then I added some lace frills as a border on the front.

Then I added some Pink ruffles around the edge of the cushion,
to help bring out the little girl in pink!

Here is the finished cushion i have made!

Here is a close-up!

What do you think?.......
